Q: How long do the clamps last, and can they be reused?
A: Service life depends on the material, application, environment and installation. Clamps may be reused if they are still in good condition and the band, bolts, threads and other key parts are not damaged or deformed. For safety-critical or heavily used applications, replacing the clamp is recommended.
    2
Q: Why does the joint still leak after installation?
A: A clamp alone does not seal a joint-fit, pipe-end condition and joint type also matter. Make sure the clamp is seated evenly around the joint and avoid over-tightening, which can deform the clamp or pipe and affect sealing. If the joint still leaks, check the pipe fit and condition before tightening further.
    3
Q: How should an exhaust clamp be installed?
A: Make sure the clamp is correctly positioned and fully seated around the joint before tightening. Tighten the fastener evenly and avoid over-tightening. After installation, check that the joint is secure and properly aligned.
    4
Q: What is the difference between U-bolt, band and V-band clamps? When should each not be used?
A: U-bolt clamps are a cost-effective option, but their clamping force is more concentrated and may leave marks on the pipe. Band clamps distribute the force over a wider area, helping reduce pipe deformation. V-band clamps provide even circumferential clamping and are convenient for joints that need to be removed frequently. V-band clamps require compatible flanges.
    5
Q: How do I choose the right clamp for my pipe joint?
A:  Choose by joint type, not by pipe size: same-diameter pipes end to end → butt joint clamp; one pipe inserted into the other → lap joint clamp; V-band flanges → V-band clamp; standard repair joint → U-bolt or band clamp.
