Q: What is an EGR pipe, and what does it do?
A: An EGR pipe is the connecting pipe in an engine exhaust gas recirculation system. It carries a metered portion of exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold or EGR cooler to the intake side, lowering peak combustion temperature and reducing nitrogen oxide formation. Also catalogued as EGR tube or EGR cooler pipe, it is manufactured for both diesel and gasoline engines.

Q: Why is a corrugated flexible section used in an EGR pipe?
A: The corrugated section absorbs thermal expansion and engine vibration, reducing the loads this movement would otherwise apply to the pipe body and flange joints. It also lowers fatigue stress at the welds and keeps the flange seated, while a rigid pipe has to take up the same movement at its joints.

Q: Which material grades do you offer for EGR pipes?
A: SS304 is our standard grade for EGR pipes. SS409 offers a more cost-effective option for suitable high-temperature applications, and SS316L is available where higher corrosion resistance is required.

Q: What connection types can you supply at the pipe ends?
A: We supply bolt-on flanges and barbed hose nipples, and we build assemblies that combine a stainless steel pipe with a flexible rubber hose section. The end configuration depends on the mounting structure and the sealing requirement at that joint.

Q: How do you ensure the flange seals reliably?
A: Flange faces are machined to a tight tolerance so that flatness and bolt-hole position are held accurately, and every flange joint is pressure leak tested before delivery. Final sealing also depends on the mating face and the gasket used at installation, so we confirm the joint design with you before production.
