Q: How do I choose the right exhaust tip for my car?
A: Start from the pipe, not the look: confirm your tailpipe's outside diameter (OD) at the mounting point, the space around the outlet including the bumper cut-out, and how you want the tip fixed. A universal tip is sized by pipe diameter and suits many vehicles; a vehicle-specific tip fits more directly, but model and year alone are not always enough, as exhaust layouts vary between trims and previous modifications. Outlet style — straight, slant cut, rolled edge or turn-down — and overall length decide how the tip sits against the bumper.
    2
Q: Will an exhaust tip change the sound or add horsepower?
A: No. A tip is an end trim piece at the outlet — it does not change the internal diameter or the flow path of the exhaust, so it will not add horsepower or noticeably change the exhaust note. Sound and performance come from the muffler, the resonator or the complete cat-back system, not from the tip. What a tip does do is extend the outlet slightly past the bumper, keeping hot gas and soot off the paint and plastic trim.
    3
Q: What is the difference between the inlet and outlet sizes, and how do I measure my tailpipe?
A: The inlet fits over your tailpipe and decides whether the tip can be installed; the outlet is the visible end, and a bigger outlet does not mean a bigger pipe fits. Measure your bare tailpipe's outside diameter (OD) at the mounting point with the exhaust cold — a caliper, or a tape around the pipe divided by 3.14. Remove any existing tip first. Match the inlet to that figure, or only slightly larger within the clamp's range; for a non-standard pipe use an adapter sleeve rather than forcing or overtightening the tip.
    4
Q: Which material should I choose?
A: Use 304 stainless as the mainstream choice for visible tips because it offers a good balance of corrosion resistance, appearance and cost. 316L suits the most demanding corrosion environments; 201 is an economy grade for cost-sensitive applications. Aluminised steel is a lower-cost option with good high-temperature oxidation resistance, but its corrosion protection relies mainly on the coating.
    5
Q: What are the dimensional tolerances for your exhaust tips?
A: Tolerances are confirmed feature by feature against your drawing or the agreed specification-inlet and outlet diameter, overall length and wall thickness may each carry a different band, and the figures are issued with the technical datasheet. Small differences between nominal and measured size are normal in fabricated tube and pipe. For fitment, we recommend providing your measured pipe diameter rather than only the nominal size.
