Q: Why is a corrugated flexible section used in an EGR pipe?

A: The corrugated section absorbs thermal expansion and engine vibration, reducing the loads this movement would otherwise apply to the pipe body and flange joints. It also lowers fatigue stress at the welds and keeps the flange seated, while a rigid pipe has to take up the same movement at its joints.

Q: What connection types can you supply at the pipe ends?

We supply bolt-on flanges and barbed hose nipples, and we build assemblies that combine a stainless steel pipe with a flexible rubber hose section. The end configuration depends on the mounting structure and the sealing requirement at that joint.

Q: Can you manufacture EGR pipes from my drawing or sample?

A: Yes. We support custom shape, length, pipe diameter, corrugation structure, flange pattern and port layout. A 3D model such as STEP or IGS is preferred for review; 2D drawings with sufficient dimensional information are also acceptable, and a sample can be evaluated when no drawing is available.

Q: What surface treatments are available?

A: Various surface treatments are available on request, including polishing, grinding and coating finishes. The suitable finish depends on the material, the appearance requirement and the corrosion exposure, so please state your requirement on the drawing or in your enquiry and we will confirm what we can supply.

Q: What information do you need to quote an EGR pipe, and what is the MOQ?

A: Please provide the application, the drawing or sample details, material and wall thickness, pipe diameter and overall length, the end configuration (flange or barbed nipple), surface treatment, quantity and required delivery date. MOQ is negotiable and depends on the design and forming process, and samples or first articles can be arranged before batch production.
